United Firefighters Union of South Australia Inc.

The Attention of Members and retired Members is directed to the passing of our esteemed retired Member and Life Member, Jeff (The Ox) Bray.
Jeff's work as a firefighter was punctuated by the very characteristics by which he played football i.e. with great courage and skill. He never sought promotion within the SAMFS, but his leadership both on and off the fireground was legendary. One of his great legacies was his ability to bring people together within the Fire Service, which he did with great effect over many years in area's such as the Fire Brigade Golf, football and bowls clubs.
In addition, Jeff played a pivotal role in the union's affairs from the mid 1970's through to his retirement.
During that period of time Jeff's efforts were rewarded with significant gains for his fellow firefighters. In recognition of his considerable contribution to his fellow firefighters, Jeff was awarded Life Membership of the Union.
Our sincere condolences are extended to Helen and daughters, Natalie, Karen, Susie, Mandy, Rachel and their immediate families. A patient sufferer at rest.
T.Leach (Secretary).
